Louis Salvio is a lifelong resident of New Britain, graduating New Britain High School in 1953. He has obtained four degrees after high school, including a Bachelors of Science in Biology; General Science, a Masters of Science in Zoology, and two 6th Year Certificates in Earth Science and Educational Administration. With this education, Lou Salvio served the students of Connecticut for 36 years as a public school teacher. He has also worked as a college professor teaching Earth Science and Biology for over 20 years, and continues to serve, for over 10 years, as a College Supervisor for Student Teachers.

Lou has also served many roles in the city of New Britain, including Chairman of the New Britain City Plan Commission, the Commission on Community and Neighborhood Development, two Charter Revision Commissions, the City of New Britain Ethics Commission, the Republican Town Committee, Chairman of the New Britain Board of Finance and Taxation, as well as serving as an Alderman from 2001-2003 and again from 2005-present. In addition to his extensive political experience, Lou is also a member of several local institutions including St. Maurice Church, the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Greater New Britain Arts Alliance, Trinity on Main Performance Center, the Art League of New Britain, and several others.

Effective government needs new ideas and ways of thinking tempered by experience and reason. Lou Salvio can help bring experience and knowledge to the City Council and help make New Britain even better.
