Mark Bernacki (R) – Town Clerk


Mark H. Bernacki was elected Town Clerk November 2013. Prior to his election, Mark served on the New Britain City Council, Chairman of the Police Commission, and served on a Charter Revision Commission. Mark and his wife, Maria, have owned a small business in downtown New Britain for over 25 years.

Mark has been actively involved in New Britain politically, civically and professionally for over 30 years. He is currently:

  • the volunteer coordinator for Warm the Children, a charity that provides warm winter clothing to
    needy New Britain children
  • Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, director and Catalyst Fund member
  • Rotary Club, secretary and board member
  • National Federation of Independent Businesses, co-chair of the CT Leadership Council
  • Polish American Business and Professional Association, past board member & secretary
  • Italian American Heritage Foundation, board member
  • Member of Elks Club #957and the Kiwanis Club
  • Corporator in many local organizations

Mark received his MBA from the University of Hartford, BS in Computer Science from Central Connecticut State University and is a graduate of New Britain High School.

Mark was born, raised and resides in New Britain with his wife Maria. They have two children, Mark II and Marybeth.
